Are UFOs Real?

Firsthand UFO Sighting

(In preface to my recounting my UFO encounters I want it known that I possess, through a chance genetic mix, a phenomenal memory, long lasting and detailed.)

That said, my first firsthand UFO encounter took place in August of 1959 at about 11:30 PM EST. I was thirteen (13) years old at the time sitting on the roof of my parents house, in West-Central Connecticut, smoking a cigarette. I was facing East (Atlantic Ocean direction); (Note: this is also the direction of the Thames River at Groton, Connecticut where the USS Nautilus, the world's first nuclear submarine, was berthed. The Nautilus was commissioned on September 30, 1954, it first ran under nuclear power on the morning of January 17, 1955. For what it's worth much of the UFO reporting has the UFOs located near or over military facilities that house nuclear components).
It was a clear warm night, nothing unusual -- my parents being asleep ... I hoped ... so I was quite alert listening for any warning sounds. I was gazing toward the horizon and noticed a diamond formation of four (4) orange lights or rather what appeared to be orange exhaust flames from military jets. These lights were alien to the normal night sky.
(For those unaware, passenger jet airplanes at this time in history were few and just being utilized for overseas flights or (as started in 1959) coast to coast flights ... they weren't single engine jet planes either. The military jets housed a single jet engine located in the tail and produced a orange exhaust flame many feet long).
These alien lights were moving from South to North far enough above the horizon that I had to slightly lift my head. I couldn't guess at the distance they were from me but to my brain the size of what I thought were exhaust flames in relation to the distance and speed they were traveling all seemed normal/relative to my experiences (which was mostly from large screen movies).
I had been watching these out-of-place alien lights for a few minutes when without any warning they hypersped-off, upward at about a 60 degree angle. They went into warpspeed ... so fast that they became four (4) lines of orange light. Instantly, they ALL went at a reverse, upward angle to their flight path, upward and at such a speed to become long lines of light ... then the light slowly faded to blank space.
I couldn't begin to guess or calculate the "G-Force" associated with such a radical direction shift and unimaginable speed ... though time and knowledge has shown me that no human could live through that G-Force. It would be like hitting a granite mountain at a thousand miles an hour.
For whatever reason, I wasn't overly excited about this experience, I (basically) kept the incident to myself, save telling a friend or two. I couldn't tell my parents and have to fess-up to what I was doing on the roof when I saw the UFO lights.
Over the years I often thought of this incident and have concluded that all the lights I was seeing belonged to one alien craft, a big UFO. And it was traveling at such a speed, when I initially saw it, that the lights, even then, were "tracing" and giving the appearance of trailing jet engine exhaust flames. (I'd love to hear from a knowledgeable, reputable physicist who could determine some of the speeds I was seeing and a "G-Force" calculation. If correct [I'll double check of course] I'll post the calculations with due credit).

Close Encounter of the Third Kind

As my luck or fate would have it some fifteen (15) years later, in 1974, I encountered another UFO ... but this time the encounter was a firsthand encounter, or known as an "encounter of the third kind".    I was living in a rented house about five (5) miles due West of my first sighting. The house was on a back road near an active but lightly used railroad track. The railroad was active during the day and was used for freight only. The area was heavily wooded and the houses were far and in-between. Our nearest neighbor to the East was a quarter of a mile away and to the West perhaps two miles. There were also active high-voltage electrical wires running through the area.    It was late Spring, June, I was returning to the house one night around 10:30 PM approaching it from the West (heading East). About one mile from the house I pulled over to a dirt patch located on a rise about fifteen (15) feet above the railroad tracks. It was a clearing between the scrub and trees and offered a nice view of the sky ... the clearing was about fifty (50) feet wide. (Since that first encounter I never let a clear night sky go without a scanning, even to this day).    I had just gotten out of my car when a large bright light began showing above the trees to my left. It was no more then three hundred (300), four hundred (400) feet away at most. It was not overhead but I'd say my head was tilted-up at a 75 degree angle ... straight in front (facing the railroad tracks). As it became more visible I could see that the light was attached to the front top of a large black triangle. I could make out the initial area of the triangular shaped UFO because of the bright light, the rest of the body I could see against the ambient night sky lighting. The light intrigued me! It was basically a glowing filament within a glass-like material sphere. Think of an old Edison light-bulb. Cut-off half the length of the neck of the bulb and you have it ... a large clear glass light-bulb like set-up! The filament though was different, more like a "Y" as bright white as lightening yet it wasn't a blinding light. As I previously stated, it was positioned atop the front triangle, and it was tilted forward at a 45 degree angle.    The illumination stayed constant for the whole while that I could see it. What spooked me was that there was no noise emanating from this object. The craft was completely silent and seemed to be moving at around thirty (30) miles an hour, maybe slower. As the light disappeared over the tree tops to my right-hand side I could still see the black body of the UFO, in front of me, getting larger/wider against the night sky.    This went on for about four (4) seconds, the UFO growing in size, until another large bright light emerged. This one was identical to the first in size but somewhat closer and different looking. I realized that this light was positioned on the aft near corner of the triangle (the corner closest to me). I couldn't see the neck as well because of my viewing position, which is what made it appear somewhat different. It appeared to me that the bulb 'part' was positioned dead center above the corner ... almost like this bulb assembly could be tilted down below the body if wanted or required.    I also could make out a third light on what was probably the aft far corner (the one distant from me). I estimate that the UFO was three hundred (300) feet to four hundred (400) feet in length and it was longer than it was wide, making it an isosceles triangle in shape. It slowly and silently glided over the trees and out of sight.    I rushed home, excitedly called a good friend and related everything I saw. In hindsight I should have also called the local police department and reported the UFO to them too ... to get the sighting on record and see if there were other other reports and the vicinty where it seen ... hindsight. (And for the record nothing was reported in my local news the next day).

Are UFOs Real? ... "YES"!

AUTHOR'S NOTES:

Since the science community has recently released findings that 'electromagnetic force' is universal, I'm assuming that this is the propulsion system for these craft and that the external light source is a component of this electromagnetic propulsion. It appears that the one thing all UFO sightings have in common is that all of the UFOs display some grouping of lights and various colored lights. As far as the color of the lights ... that could have something to do with the amount of energy being applied. In my case it seems that "orange" would indicate strong and "white" would indicate weak. It's also noted that the reports of UFO sightings (throughout history) never are consistent in body shape and size. I liken this to our common mode of transportation: our vehicles come in countless shapes, styles and sizes. The UFOs having visible lights is like us having visible wheels, neither are confined to how they're wrapped.    I'll continue to update this section as some thoughts, research and experiments play-out. So do check back often! And if there is anyone out there who is thoroughly knowledgeable in electromagnetism with the goal of creating a usable propulsion system AND who is working on such please contact me ... perhaps we can work together, with what I've actually seen and back-engineer it.

(12/28/10) Note: When I first saw the front of the UFO and the light I was struck by the size of the lighting apparatus; in ratio to the body the light set-up wasn't that big. My initial thought was that 'they' had fashioned the light(s) to appear (to ground viewers) to be an airplane cruising light, but after I realized that the lights were actually part of the propulsion system.
